               INTRO TO SHOES  <S>

The GTS footwear listings are primarily divided by dancewear, uniform, and dramatic applications with subdivisions as follows:
DANCE SHOES        THEATER DANCE STUDENT TRAINING, THEATER DANCE PERFORMANCE, POINTE SLIPPERS, ETHNIC/CHARACTER/FOLK DANCE, BALLROOM, PERIOD SHOES, CUSTOM DESIGN
UNIFORM SHOES    PARADE & FIELD (including twirling boots)
DRAMATIC        MASQUERADE ACCESSORIES - Shoes & Boots, - Leg & Footwear, CHARACTER COSTUMES - CLOWNING AROUND

        DANCE SHOES

Soft and light weight, available in many styles and widths enablling accurate fit intended to be shaped by each foot, dance styles are suitable for any application requiring minimum shoe bulk and/or easy movement.

With few exceptions (noted later) dance shoe styles are designed for indoor use. Soft leather uppers and soles do not protect the feet from irregular or sharp objects, and are quickly deteriorated by water and petroleum, including asphalt.

If outdoor use is required, consider Hip Hop sneakers, custom soles, dance-based uniform styles, or ask about application specific styles.

        UNIFORM SHOES

Made of more durable materials, available in a limited selection of styles, sizes, and widths, permitting only street-shoe-like fitting.

Uniform shoe and boot styles are designed for outdoor use, but may be used indoors. Several styles are copied from dance shoes, but include protective neoprene soles and, most, waterproof synthetic uppers.

        DRAMATIC FOOTWEAR

Included are character hosiery, shoe/boot covers, sandals, slippers, shoes, and boots of various qualities and suitablity for indoor and/or outdoor applications.

If in doubt, request assistance.
